Thea found this group. They go on trips, have an instagram "surfatl", and they want to build a surf-park ("hey that was my idea").
hmm - we should connect with them :-). They'll foil and ride wind too :-).

There was wind in today’s forecast, then there wasn’t, then a few dots appeared predicting an evening breeze. Fortunately William, Gene & I headed to Van Pugh and were rewarded with nice foiling conditions from 4-6 PM. The mild cold front dropped the humidity and my gear dried before packing up.
First there were dots
And then, not
Now they’re back
So I’m thinking of going
Late afternoon, when it’s not so hot
I think this was posted somewhere here before but I couldn't find it. Which really sucked because Richard had asked me if I had a copy of it a few weeks back. I looked and looked but couldn't find it anywhere. Today, I was poking around my home computer and clicked on a file and there it was!
Richard Genet - kiter, winger and OG windsurfer: Hawaii 1979! He was a young lad living there at the time.
The action has been intense. Video on youtube and you can watch the livestream with a live ticker here: https://www.pwaworldtour.com/index.php?id=38&tx_pwaevent_pi1[showUid]=340&cHash=61eb563ed7561dc510e147975efd5c91

Hopefully that's actual breeze and not just the random rain shower.
fwiw, noticed that the breeze picks up a bit around 4:30 the last few windy weekend days (westerlies).
Will be at VP - 10am
The Park is now open. Nice foiling breeze. Maybe enough to WS. Photo 15 min ago.
After 3 weeks wait, my Foil Drive Plus arrived via Fedex last Friday from Australia. Brian & his brother Chris at Fin&Foil in Fort Pierce took care of the ordering (no taxes, no shipping fee plus they handled customs perfectly - “dangerous goods”/batteries)
4 sessions last weekend at Acworth and Lanier: a blast!
If you are familiar with the concept, considering to order it and already foiling = reach out for a demo and possibly a test drive. (Webguy of course is first on the list!)

Hey all,
I’m looking to get back into wind sports, I have my eyes set on wingsurging, wingfoiling, but it’s more just being on the water and decide what I really want to invest in which could totally be windsurfing again. I windsurfed years ago and just now (20 years later) realizing wind sports exist on Lanier beyond sailing.
That said, is anyone willing to let me tag along one weekend, meet up at a spot? I don’t know anyone in the area who does any form of wind sports and would love to meet people and tag along.
Buckle up if the forecast holds. Thanks to Langdon for the heads up.
Josh learned to ride on this bike so it’s got some road rash from his crashes but it’s sound and a lot of fun to ride. He got a new bike and the garage is full so this one has to go.
Foot forward geometry
3 speed internal w/ Grip Shift.
Front hand brake, rear coaster.
Shock forks.
$125 but if you know of any low income families or handicapped kids in need of one I’d be willing to donate it.

"Looks like my wetsuit shrank and my board has, um... lost some buoyancy."
* Yeah, there are structural reasons a board loses float: water inside. No obvious big dings on this one but someone certainly could have left a vent screw open.
Saw this Facebook reel of someone winging at Pozo. Looked up the poster. Ouch for alll of you old enough to drive.
Looks like a bit of a front coming through? A bit of breeze before and after the rain tomorrow but the breeze is much better to the west of Atlanta. Sunday looks a bit breezy for the foil/big wing crowd. GFS and Euro differ a bit with the GFS a bit more positive at the moment.
I probably can't wrangle out anywhere Saturday but will be at the LLSC Sunday.

This has been on Seabreeze, but haven't seen it posted here. Seems like it is worth a try. I was happy to hear, however, that scratches don't really impact performance much, My foil wing has gotten pretty ugly so might be worth a try.
New pump foil promises extended flights. Novel design reminds me of the venerable P-38 Lightning. Longest pump flight on this currently is 2.5 hours. Yes, hours. You can tour around the lake on this. fyi, wake thief, video creator, has a commercial interest in this now so expect a rosy review but still impressive.
Four hottest days on record in succession and the North Atlantic is record warm.
