Excellent video on how to sand your foil wings. Original is in French but you can use captions and autotranslate (use settings to choose autotranslate into English). If you have some light scratches, you can use an enamel clearcoat or black sanding primary before hand to fill slight scratches, etc. When I'm not lazy, I'll find some of the other posts which talk about filling bigger dings, etc. and link them.

Based on many chats with winging friends, this is spot on.
Topic for discussion - are there ways we accidentally gatekeep people from trying windsurfing, winging, kiting, etc when we don't mean to? It's sometimes a problem in other sports, say cycling, where people feel like they need certain gear to be a "cyclist".
One thing we do without meaning to is emphasize the higher speed forms (planing/foiling) and it maybe makes people starting out feel less than when we are actually trying to inspire them. Any other examples?
From our great friend, Bobby G:

A tropical storm developing off the Yucatán Peninsula has the potential to bring NE wind on Wed. - Thurs. I’m keeping my schedule open & hope we get good wind after the rain.
The storm is now named Idalia & is forecast to become a hurricane hitting FL & possibly Charleston.
These guys are from Australia. but coming to Florida soon.
Easterly dots wed morning. I can't go but Richard was expressing interest. Looks like first of fall weather pattern beginning.
fwiw, these breezes usually peak around 10:30-11 and are done by 12-12:30 as day heats up.
It picked up today and I see dots for tomorrow AND 818 is my sail number AND my car is already loaded. We've GOT to go!

Hey guys,
WindAlert shows 15+ kts tomorrow (Thurs) afternoon , but Windy.com doesn’t look so promising.
Interpreting these divergent forecasts is a quandary ? - any advice?
Thx!
Wow! Forecasts show big wind on the way. If the forecast holds for West wind Monday, I plan to sail mid-day, but will check the radar for rain. Tues. Fx is NW wind & sunny. Please post if you can go.
Call for sails. I hoping to have gear bags made for our Fall Classic trophies so need some material. Anything works but colorful, even old Dacron, would be very cool. I can pick up or meet you! Chris 404.386.8505
I found this foil package on sale for $621.
I was thinking of using it on my Exocet 140l board.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Another banger from Paul van Bellen. The wave sailing ladies of the PWA help Kim get over dumping a hot windsurfer by hitting Cloud Break in Fiji

If the Fx holds I plan to sail at VP tomorrow afternoon.
Have a used mast waiting for me at Ocean Air. Would love not to have to wait until the end of Oct to use it.
It's a 400 so pretty easy to bring back.
Starlink (the dashes) and ISS (bright spot below the Starlink in the clouds). It was actually pretty dark, but the I-phone saw it as blue.
