We are going to give away two charters for the Fall Classic to club members to winners of our essay contest.
There are going to be two categories:
1) The most humorous/creative reason you deserve a charter. Or just a funny windsurfing story. Entertain us!
2) The best sob story. Real personal tragedy not necessarily a plus. We're looking for creative writing here and not exploiting someone's real life pain. Tell us why you deserve a charter dammit.
East alert. Maybe some rain and overcast. Cloud cover and NWS models indicate breezy all day instead of the normal "get there early" conditions.
I totally missed that Ophelia was a thing this past weekend. Near hurricane strength, came ashore in NC. My buddy up in DC had a 20-40 mph session on the Chesapeake. I think we are up to a P storm (Phillipe) now?
Interesting thread on how long can we keep this up? When is "too old" for windsurfing? Much later many assume.

The original question plus some of the best bits (condensed).
BIC Core 160 with retractable dagger Board.
Ideal beginner to Intermediate windsurfing package.
Board is perfect with no nicks or damage of any kind. Best easy ride board I have owned in 52 years in the sport. The retractable dagger board makes upwind sailing much easier for beginners but disappears in the board with a fling of the foot for planing.
Breezy weekend day. Deserves its own thread. Hope to see folks out there. Go Dawgs! (and may their fans be in Athens ).
NW so the usual spots.
I'll never use these again, though they gave a many a great days. Mistral Race Board Equipe and a Diamond Head 130 L.
I know there are a few of you who ride nicer bikes than I do. There's a recall on Dura-Ace and Ultegra cranks on 11 speed bikes produced prior to 2019
Time to sign up for charter boards for the Fall Classic! We have a limited number of Windsurfer LTs available for the weekend - $150 gets you complete kit and you won't even have to put anything on the roof of your car/van!
What a deal! If your name is on the Sponsoring Members page (current or expired), you get $25 off!
If I'm in the mood, we might give away a charter, too!
Currently three straight days of dots: Thursday pm and Friday easterly; and Saturday a rare north.
Planning on all three if possible.
Not very helpful. Looks like Weather Cat peed on the computer again.
Does anyone know what ever happened the the Starboard Serenity that was being passed around the country? I was just curious after seeing the picture in the forum.

Hoping to go to later in the afternoon tomorrow with Jr. Likely at the LLSC but expected direction (NW) good at VP or Old Fed.
Please post if you are considering Allatoona. A guy up in TN is starting to windfoil and may come down.

What is a new entry level windsurfing package? What are your thoughts? What would you suggest for a friend? Thoughts?
Unless you like being buzzed by power boats going 80 mph, a good day to skip being out on the main channel and around the marinas (excepting Sunrise)
You get bit on the calf by a shark and your thinking, "could this day go any worse?"
Yes. Yes, it can. (He made a complete recovery)

It's that season: the easterlies of fall. Vann's Tavern, VP and the emerging winging spot, Tidwell should be good.
These tend to be morning sessions only - as the day heats up, it kills the wind unless it's overcast. Best winds usually from 9:30 to 11:00 am.
Buy a foiling 360 and get a foiling tack for free. Oh yeah. on RACE gear.
Sorry about that. We were offline about 18 hours. Power at the offices of Windsportatlanta Central went out yesterday afternoon. Power was restored around midnight but the surges when the power was going out fried something in the building that took both GA Power and commercial electrician this morning to solve. Big, expensive stuff got tripped and it wasn't as easy as a residential flip of the switch.
But, back and alive so all is good.
In some cases, a lot! Windsport from the 1890s being done today.
