Great tips. It looks like we'll have a chance to practice with some wind forecast this afternoon.

well... that sprang from nowhere. I won't be there but it looks like a nice warm SW breeze before some really needed rain.

Not everyone will agree but this warm spell has been very pleasant. (My daughter has been raging about the lack of cold weather to put her in the holiday spirit. Exams aren't helping that mood.)

Webguy, you didn't miss anything. We went to Old Federal to watch the wind die as the clouds rolled in. The 15- G25 forecast was totally bogus.

By the way, the water now is so low that it's hard to get out to an open fetch of water at Old Federal. Even on a SW wind, Van Pugh may be the better place to launch.

It's blowing today just to spite you. If you think the water is low now, it was almost 8 feet lower this time in 2008. From reading the data, it looks like the lake has stabilized for the last few weeks.
