What a way to start 2007

New Year’s Day was a pleasant surprise. Forecast was for w5-15 but it
ended up being more like 15-25 and according to NOAA an occasional gust to 38 later in the day.

Yep, I remember those gusts while I was on my 8.0. I still feel it today.

I didn't see any gusts like that either on the water or on the Gilmer history thing. It did show the differential going from 15-25 to more like 18-22, which was consistent with my experience on the water, i.e. around 4 p.m. it got pretty sweet for a 6.5. Good things come to those who wait (or get there late).

misprint

I think the 38 I saw on the NOAA 2day history must have been a misprint.

David I dont see how you were holding down that 8.0, my 7.0 was a handful. I really like that custom peelskid board though, thats one of those european brands isnt it?
