Tues, 4/7, St. Pete

Since Thursday, it's been windy down here but I didnt get to sail until yesterday, (tues, 4/7.) I sailed Sunset Park which is just south of Fred Howard, it's where everyone sails now that Fred Howard is closed until Sept 09. I sailed my 6.0 and 115 liter board. There were only about 5 windsurfers and 3 kiters to start but the after work rush brought out a bunch more kiters. I was told there were alot more sailors/kiters on Monday as it was windy and warmer. I did wear my big suit although the tempt was in the mid 60's. Sunset Park was the Kiters park as kiting was not allowed at Fred Howard. The sailing conditions are just like Fred Howard, shallow and flat water and good on any direction except East.

I ran into Patrick and Margie from Atlanta/Tarpon Springs. Patrick was not sailing due to an injury from a collision with a jet ski several weeks before. He is on crutches, healing well and expects to be sailing again in a few more weeks.

We're heading back to Atlanta today and then I'm off to Hatteras on Saturday.
