Seems to me like Old 41 would be a better call than Galts, given that they expect sw winds. However, I am wondering if the lake levels being *too high* may pose a problem of no place to park?

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
Old 41 is closed. I suppose you might carry stuff in around the gate if there is enough space on the sides, been a while since I've looked at the arrangement there.

How about Acworth beach as an alternative location??? Also, did someone ever mention something about sailing at Red Top Mountain and are there any places to go up there on a WSW? I think I read about this once not too long ago, and have searched the forum for it with no luck. :(
OK, just got a report from Jimmy B who sailed today at Old 41 #2 which was open. (Old 41 #1 was closed because the boat ramp was covered with water.) I'm counting on the possibility that tomorrow is going to be close to epic... He will meet us out there again in the late morning, back up plan is Acworth beach if all else fails.
You have to launch at the boat ramp.
As you know only a few car spaces
there, the rest for trailers. So if
you go on the weekend try to get there
early..Galt's that is.
I have found that Coopers Branch is a good place for WSW winds. It is just above the DAM. To get there .... 75 North to the hwy 20 exit ( ROME ) follow to the right ... 1st light turn right ... follow for a few miles. There are a few access areas back there, some are really nice for picnics and such. Follow to Coopers ... small parking area / rigging area and I have not been there this season. It may be under water.

Linda,
Is old 41 closed due to high water?

Did any one go out to Allatoona today? If so, was the high water level a problem?
