Boards like that challenge how we've commonly viewed longboards for 30 years. I'm not sure this is the one but I have to wonder if there isn't an evolutionary jump in long boards around the corner. The Starboard Go wasn't the first wide board, custom builders had been messing around with the concept for several years, but the Go was among the first to redefine light air recreational sailing.
This Exocet, the RSX, etc may be a bit beyond the average recreational sailor but it probably won't be long before someone does find the magic combination.
In the meantime, my Equipe will be my summer time sled.

When I saw the hull I was reminded of something like a Moth (pre-foil) or 18ft skiff
Then I saw this pic below of a Laird Hamilton racing sup. Seems like a number of different people in different disciplines are coming up with a similar solution to a speed oriented shape that works well both sub-planing and planing.
