kiteboarding near macon

hello everyone my name is jon and i kiteboard... if you are still reading this then i just have a few questions for yall. i just moved to warner robins from panama city, fl so i am new to the area. i recently went out to tybee island for the weekend and that was pretty fun minus the 3 hour drive to get skunked 1 of the days but oh well thats how it goes. i want to know if there were any lakes close to the macon area suitable for kiteboarding (basically i need need a decent sized open area to launch and land a kite). i saw lake juliette was on your site however i called and it is closed until march? also i noticed on the map lake tobesofkee. has anyone been there and could tell me what its like? (wind speeds, wind directions, water temp this time of year, etc). also how does the windsurfing community here in georgia feel about kiteboarders? any help would be greatly appreciated.

claystone park and sandy beach at lake tobesofkee in macon both have a nice long sandy beach perfect to launch from and if you kite SW from where the beach curves at claystone you have a nice long fetch. west and NW winds come right down the channel. Water temps are a little warmer than Lanier, a 4mm wetsuit will probably get you through the winter.

here is a couple photos taken at claystone

Juliette is a bit wider lake but no good launch areas even when the campground is open its about impossible to launch from there. ...great windsurfing lake though.
