Good Windsurfing from T.S. Alex Despite Forecast

Randy & I met at Tidwell this morning in the rain. I almost turned around driving to the Lake because I saw hardly any wind in the trees and it became rainy and dark. As soon as the rain stopped, the wind picked up enough to whitecap. I rigged my 8.3 meter sail and 130 liter JP board. Randy rigged a 6.6m with his hypersonic. For about 45 minutes the wind was East and I was fully powered with planing jibes. We had another 40 minutes of planing most of the time as the wind shifted ENE, then by 2PM the wind died. I called Gene and he was sailing at Van Pugh.

The hourly weather report from Gainesville fails to record the estimated 15-22 mph blowing on the water.
