Gimme Somathat Old Time Religion

You know - the kind they do in churches, instead of at our lake at out launching spot, taking up all our parking places....... I'm betting all these people's faith will be tested severely in the next few months. When its 36 degrees, proly they won't be out there.

But, it was a great day overall for big sails and big boards at least. Kudos to Gene for driving around the parking lot for 2 hours BEFORE he came out and killed the wind.

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.

Perfect day for Junior & me. Wind, water & air temps were just right for Hobie cruising. Windsurfing looked like work in that washing machine.

I missed my chance to be baptized & born again. There was an arch with two rows of floating flowers set up on the windsurfing ramp. Does falling off my board count? Despite the parking lot being full mid-day, we had ten windsurfers enjoying the warm, breezy afternoon.

After Gene told me what was going on at VP, I decided to do a little adventure of my own. I hooked the Hobie and the windsurfer to the jet ski and towed them to Sunrise cove where I met up with William. I never rigged the windsurfer but I sailed the Hobie all day with William. I got in a lot of trapeeze work which was great.

Wish I could have joined you but it sounded like it was too clogged and was going to take too much time at VP.

You'll never catch me riding around that parking lot for 2 hrs looking for a place to park

I didn't actually ride around for 2 hours, but the parking was rough, especially with a trailer. The parking was bad when Pat P arrived at 10:30 and when I got there around 12:30, there was one or 2 single spots available. I parked with the boat trailers, and walked over to our launch and hung out for awhile, checking the conditions and situation. Around 1:30 the church services broke up and suddenly there were plenty of spaces, so I moved my trailer pretty much to my regular spot.

The park was very busy, sort of like the perfect storm where everything lined up. There were 2 different church groups going on, with one actually using our launch, there was something going on with a bunch of scuba divers, it was a very nice day weather-wise, and it was the first good wind forecast (with a 20 in it) on the weekend. I complained to the gate keeper, who told me I was going to .... burn. Late in the day, while talking to a park ranger, I mentioned the parking situation and SHE said they were not supposed to have religious services at the park, but like other groups they could pay to reserve a shelter.

It was a fun day, great seeing alot of sailors out. Most had pretty good sessions early afternoon, running kind of big sails. Jim Crooks (welcome back Jim,) and I finally decided to try our 7.5s, but didnt do too much, could get planing but with alot of pumping. Then later, as Chris P predicted, it came up again and Chris P and I had a pretty nice hour session for 5.30 to 6.30.
