Gault's?

Looks like some potential E-NE tuesday. Just curious - is there enough water left at Gault's for a decent reach? How far to the water? Anyone been out there lately?

Was there recently and it's the lowest I've ever seen. I long haul to the water, way past the beach markers. The water is fine for windsurfing though and great on East and Northeast and Northwest. The day I went it was worth the long haul because it was fast and flat with mostly steady wind.

I think it is still above winter pool. The island in the middle isn't as big as it is mid winter. I actually love Galts when it is empty. There are plenty of gravel bars that you can tuck behind for great flatwater jibes. If you rig on the hill you can carry your gear down the rocks to the water and it is only about 100 feet. Even at the lowest levels it is close.

I have been sailing Galts since 1964 so I have an emotional attachment to that place. I never get tired of it. There is just something special about that little mud hole.

See you next time.

Alan
