Epic day of foiling in Pensacola

After a 25 mile afternoon session yesterday, had a great full day of foiling in Pensacola Bay today. Wind speeds 15-17, gusts 23-25. Foiled with the 790 wing and 5.3 sail. Got the hang of staying in the harness while on the foil, which was key in enabling these stats: close to 6hrs of foiling, probably 90+% on the wing. 40 miles, 19.5mph max speed (not bad for a 1500 cm2 wing and 5.3 wave sail). A few pics below. Hopefully another good day tomorrow before heading back.

Awesome. Glad you decided to use the 790. How does it compare to your bigger wings now that you've had some air time on it?

Your harness progress is great. It's not only good for your arms but having consistent harness pressure down helps steady things out a lot.

Let me know where you launched from so we can update the maps if necessary. Thanks for taking pics and sharing them.

Re: Epic day of foiling in Pensacola

Thank you William.

I like both wings. Maybe the bigger one a little more so but it could be that I use it under more tame conditions. The bigger wing's extra width definitely helps with side to side stability and steadiness of the board during pumping.

Shoreline park in Gulf Breeze, FL (800 Shoreline Dr.) is my favorite launch spot at Pensacola Bay for S, SE, SW. If North, i am told there is a park directly across the bay from Shoreline Park but I haven't tried it yet. Last time I sailed N winds here, I launched from Navarre Beach Marine Science park, which was good (where I lost my SS76 but nothing to do with the site). Direct East or West - parks at the foot of Pensacola bridge or Navarre bridge.
