Delamination?

I have got an 8 year Fanatic wave board sitting in my basement. I was thinking I might "recommission" it back into my board quiver, but I noticed that are all kinds of strange markings on the bottom. They appear to be under the skin, but the board still feels really solid. Is this delamination? I have seen anything like it, so I have no idea.

That is pretty wierd. If it were delamination it should be possible for you to feel soft spots in the board. Are you sure its not just paint? Anyway, the person who can probably tell you is Eva Holman. Here web page is Boardlady.com. Email her with the pic and she will probably tell you what's up. (Her web page shows lots of different kinds of problems and repairs.)

I noticed in the bottom of the picture what looked to be plastic wrap or maybe some type of foil. My guess is the board was sitting on or wrapped in what ever is in the picture. It stained or maybe even had a reaction to the finish on the bottom of the board. I suspect 1200 grit wet sandpaper or maybe even simple green would take it off. If there are no soft spots when you push with your fingers then it likely isn't delamination.
