Chris P. seeking used computer

Help - my coal fired Compac has kicked the bucket & I can't spring for new right now. If you have something usable you'd like to sell, please give me a call. Chris - 404-525-7190 or 404-784-0287. Thanks.

As it turns out, the condition was not quite terminal, as I was able to do a restore procedure, and now it is limping along much as before. In any case, I'm still interested in upgrading to something more modern if and when some righteous deal may come along. Thanks.

There is a local store carrying refurbished IBM desktops with XP Pro and I believe they have P4 processors for $250. You could reuse your existing monitor. There are also $400 laptops there. I love a cheap laptop these days and don't feel the need for high end systems. If you haven't done a free online spyware scan in a while and use IE browser, this can make your old system seem like brand new as well. Search for the TrendMicro free scan, but make sure you know what it is deleting in the end in case some spyware has attached to some important files for bootup.
