Get your road-trip mojo on...this event is certified skunk-free! It's our 3rd Annual windfest on East Beach, St Simons Island, GA, run out of the soon-to-be world famous SSI Surf Sailors "boatyard". Hang out on a beautiful, expansive, semi-open ocean beach, p e r f e c t for safe windsurfing at all levels. Come for a day or stay over for two. If you like water and wind, we got something for ya.
Beside the clinic-style lessons for first-timers**, this event is a great demo opportunity for the experienced individual to test ride the best of '09 windsurfing and standup paddleboard gear from KONA, Exocet, and other brands. You got used gear to sell? Might as well bring it, slap a price on it and get 'er sold if you can. And there's cat sailing...you know, on sailboats. Reduced prices for catamaran rides from Barry's Beach Service and you can get a little cat-sailing instruction, also. There'll be standup paddleboarding all day all over the place. Try various sizes and models of SUP's by paddle and/or sail. Be aware, though, light-wind wave sailing on the KONA longboards just may change your life. We will do a very, very cool SUP flat-water excursion Sunday morning. Late in the day, as the beach gets less populated, highly skilled riders will be demonstrating kite buggying and landboard sailing on the hard-packed sands. Did I mention free food? Right on the beach? -- sweet.
(** Reservations and a fee of $25 is required for the Whitecap Windsurfing beginner's clinic. Contact me for further info. Registration is through Glynn County Parks and Recreation, per info on banner above.)
(** No SUP of your own? Now worries, we'll provide one for this Sunday mornign excursion, but you must be quite secure on the board.

If I bring my Hobie Cat can I park and launch it from the boatyard.?
Also, does anyone down there have cat wheels for getting the cat from the boatyard to the water??
PeelSkid
Dave more than likely you will be able to drop your cat at the boatyard and use the club wheels to get it to the beach, but will have to park outside the boatyard after launch.

Right. You can drive through the boatyard and drop off anything quickly but then park in the big public lot, which is right there. There might be an empty slot for a trailer but that can't be expected.
There's plenty of sets of wheels for running the cat to the beach and people to assist you in that.
