It was a little chilly but it wasn't raining. We had lots of wind to start, Randy on his 4.5,and I was on my 5.2, then it slacked off a little and sail sizes went up to 5.7, 6.5 and 7.0. Patrick was on his 12 meter kite.
Good day, it was only cold when you stopped, then it was really cold. I hope Chris V didn't get sun burned down in the keys.
Weird but good day on Juliette, it would be 6.5-7.0 for about 45min then it would start sprinkling and the temperature would drop about 10 degrees (my fingers could tell) and it would go 5.3 for about 20min, you could set your watch by the cycles. The nice part is when it was lighter the water would flatten out then when it cranked the water was still really smoooooth.
I did get a little sunburned on Sunday. 6.5 Sat & Sun. Shorty was a a bit too warm Sat but just right for Sun (the hot tub helped too). It's been cold at night... well 50º, but that pesky wind makes it feel like less. F'cast is 10-20 again today and Tues, finally going east which I hear makes for starboard tack ramps– woohoo. Stay warm ya'll.
Monday turned out to be light and then went glassy on the gulf side. I needed a little recovery time anyway... wore it out on Sunday. Went for a boat excursion through the mangroves and down to Holiday Isle for frozen drinks with little umbrellas. Cool sea & sky effects with the overcast and mirror water making no horizon. Sorta Twilight Zoney. These guys are Merry Pranksters. Martinis & sunset ritual, etc– decadence, debauchery and delight. "What happens in the Keys..."
I plan to be there as well.
What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
I'm going up around lunch.
Thought I'd go, but it's 36F - too cold to rig & sail new gear.

Also at Van Pugh TODAY, the new 2010 EZZY WAVE PANTHER, actually 2 of them.
And Joe O is on the way and Randy is almost there, and I'll be there right at Noon.
It's blowing and it's the weekend! Everybody come on out.

Randy, Gene, Jim, Joe sailed, Patrick kited, and I wimped out. They are better men than I. 35F is too cold for me.
Chris Pyron also manned up.
