Lisa, the dogs and I are going to be camping at Jekyll Island after Christmas. We're driving down on Friday, the 26th and driving back Monday, the 29th. I believe it's low tide in the afternoon around 2 and 3:00, which should expose the sand bar.

Thanks for the heads up on your trip. I'll check the forecast for wind when you plan to be in Jekyll.

I am in no matter what the wind is as long as the weather is good.

Calling all Hobie cat'ers. We should take the boats. Easy launch. and even easier with wheels. Chris, Alan???????????????

I called and found out that Kelly Park on Merritt Island, near Cape Canaveral, is open for windsurfing. There is another Kelly Park in North Florida that has been closed due to contaminated water, but this one is open. This opens up the possibility of driving to Jekyll and then continuing south to Kelly Park if the weather is good.

Long range forecast for Dec. 26th at St. Simons is 82 degrees, partly sunny, SW 15 to 25.
SOUNDS JUST RIGHT TO ME

My holiday plans are changing & I might be interested in joining in. Where do you like to sail when you go there - sound, inlet, or ocean? ChrisP.
When I joined Gene's group at Jekyll Is. during the summer, we sailed in the ocean. There is a beach park to launch from with boardwalk ocean access & showers. Because of the gradually increasing depth offshore, there is no real wave break to sail through. The waves are further out.

I just booked the campsite T 20. That's me, Brittany and her boyfriend James. I will be bringing the bikes, Hobie Cat, windsurfer, kayak. I know some pretty cool places to Kayak on both the N and S end of the island.
Weather looks really good. Mid 70's.

Jekyll Report -
Nice and Warm and Sunny, but NO Wind. One afternoon it blew maybe 10-15, I flew my kite on the beach but didnt try to ride the board. David did sail his Hobie and did some Kayaking. The camping was fun.
