Wind Advisory in effect from noon today to 8 PM EST this
evening...
The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from noon today to 8 PM EST this
evening.
* Locations... most of north and central Georgia south and east of
Dalton to Rome.
* Winds... sustained winds increasing to around 20 mph with gusts
to 35 mph.
* Timing... from around noon to 8 PM this evening.
* Impacts... winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially
for high profile vehicles. Trees or tree limbs could be blown
down. Secure loose outdoor objects.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of at least
20 mph... or gusts to 35 mph or stronger are expected.
Lots of wind with gust into mid 30s+. I sailed 4.5 on 86 liter, Chris P sailed a 4.0. I also tried my 6.0 and 5.2 to start but got hammered. Jim C and Scott S sailed low 5s for a short while. It was really blowing!
It looks like it's going to be a race between the rain ending and the sun setting. Perhaps someone will rig up something with this?
