Yeah, OBX and watching kids practice it in Greece. Kind of reset my head and ego about falling and feeling like a kook. The best windsurfers were often the ones falling the most.
And remember: it doesn't matter if it's boiled or fried.
Was in tough conditions yesterday but kept trying to jibe except the occasional strategic tack. Fell in a bit due to the gustiness and difficulty finding the right rig, but then I got it dialed and stopped getting wet. have seen others out foiling and finning and I can't remember the last time I saw them even make a jibe attempt. They'll keep doing tacks...
One man's personal two min highlight reel. Thank heavens I started winging with a) some foil experience, b) a big floaty board and c) flat water. This looks... daunting. OTOH, for all you wing beginners, this should provide some validation.
One thing I took from the freestylers at OBX Wind– you have to be willing to eat it (a LOT) to get good at it.
