South winds are usually tuff to sail and no good launches. Depending on how much south (if any west in it) you might would want to check out Old Federal, or Sunrise Cove. I think the day use area of Sunrise Cove is always open, you take a right at the guard house at the entrance to the marina, you dont actually go past the guard house into the marina, but almost. If it's straight south, no west or east in it, Mountain View park looks like it might be good, but I've never sailed there. If it has any east in it, Vanns Tavern might be the call. I seem to remember sailing Vanns Tavern on a straight south wind by slogging out to the wind line.
Reminder, I'm posting updates on the Hatteras trip on WindSense's Log page if anyone is interested, sailed 6.0 Sunday and Monday -
South wind 15 to 25 and 80 degrees.
Where to go? I am thinking Sunrise cove for that S wind.

Nice on the wind speed. Is the Sunrise Cove spot at Sunrise Marina in Oakwood?? I plan on surfing somewhere around 2pm. Thanks for the info. Bill A.

I do love this place, Hatteras, not Lanier on a South wind.

Thanks for the input Gene. Sunrise Cove it is. I'll be there around 2 O'clock. Bill
Running out of daylight, so I'm wondering what the best is in a SouthWest(today) at Allatoona?
Any ideas? Bill H., you out there?
