Anybody up for an afternoon soul sesh? Looks like there's a bit of potential.

I've been staring at my monitor trying to debug something for 36 hours - I need a diversion.

Re: Tue 12/30/14

I went to Galts to do some kitexperimenting. It was about 10-20 there. Did anybody sail Lanier? I've noticed a trend lately - there's wind at Galts but not at Lanier. From the readings at Gilmer it looks like it never happened at Lanier yesterday. Probably yet another effect of global warming, the Chinese hacking the NWS, or perhaps the evil geniuses in N. Korea.

Here's my latest. Fairly long, but I'll probably cut it down and repost. I'm trying to make a water relaunchable kite. The best water reluanches are around 3-4 minutes and 6:50. Also don't miss the special guest appearance between 5:30 and 6.

Don't know what's sadder: My watching cat videos or watching Randy's kite experiments. Smile This boy needs some wind.

Randy, where did you find this music track? At first I thought you were going all "shoe-gazing" (Cocteau Twins, Lush) on us and had to Shazam the track. (From past posts, I know your heart leans more hip-hop). Then finally found the video which had about as many views as your kite experiment. Nice to see you pushing the boundaries of the music scene.

Back to the (lack of) windsurfing... I wanted to go yesterday. At my digs, the wind looked like it wanted to blow, Mayretta (home of the Braves) kept showing wind but Gilmer didn't. I figured the dog needed more to be outside than I did so I hung around and let him sun a bit.

William - I should have put the music in the credits. Your link is almost the same album as on Freeplay music.com. It was listed there as "The Tempest" under the Dark Wave category. I was more intrigued by the category title than anything and liked it.

But sad? What could possibly be sad about this???

I think he's referring to having not sailed in weeks and his only forms of entertainment are a) cat videos b) videos of some guy flying an Elmo kite on a cold N. Georgia lake shore and/or c) watching a music video seen by exactly 35 other people.

Thank god for Meals on Wheels or he'd have no social interaction whatsoever.

That's pretty bad. I already have 19 views of my kitexperiment. I also used directions's Black Swan as score for other videos of mine (Single Keel NPW 62 views and Interstellar Landsailing 37). I've produced more view for their music as they did on their own page..... Blum 3

Re: Tue 12/30/14

On Wednesday, New Years Eve, in Tarpon Springs, I had a nice 7.5 / 115 liter session followed by a 14 meter kite session. I was on the water from 10:00 till 2:00 at Fred Howard Park, wind was ENE and it was cloudy and cool, 60 degrees. The forecast was not calling for wind, but it blew around 20mph. We had 6 windsurfers and one other kiter (Fred Howard is not ideal to kite on East winds, so I think the serious kiters were going to Skyway Bridge or Ft DeSota.)

I do love this place but so far this trip I've only been on the water one other time (loaded up 5.2, WINDY!) not counting the two times paddling the long board.

Only sailed twice now, Gene and you still love that place? You are falling in love to easy these days. (Guess Atlanta winds will make you do that.)

Hey arrogontj (or whatever you call yourself) if you remember that song, you are really dating yourself. You've probably been crabby and irritable since long before 98.....

If I seem crabby, it is because that is my raison d'etre. Smile
