This is a reminder: The SURFRIDER FOUNDATION is launching a chapter in Atlanta. This event is a membership drive, fundraising event at the DooGallery on the evening of March 14 from 7 - 12pm.

The following is copied from some communication with the director of board of the new Atlanta Chapter. It is indicative of the sort of thing SurfRider Foundation gets into.
"I am scrambling to get all of our stuff ready for the party, but I want to talk to you about helping out with a clean-up event on Lake Lanier some time this year. I think it would be so cool to tie it in to windsurfing or SUP. I personally am more of a sailor than a surfer so I spend almost every weekend on the lake. For me, cleaning the lake beaches is a real priority. I am putting together a flyer for the party that lists upcoming events. I want to put this down with a TBD on the date – I’m thinking September some time? What do you think?"

I don't think that's the mindset of most surfers.
I think a clean up day on lake lanier is a great Idea, we have similar days for the mountain biking trails and it always makes you feel good to give something back
