Sunday is looking pretty good. I hope to make it.

I think Randy auditions for Cirq on Sunday, though.

A sunny warm, windy Sunday ? Right now it looks promising. Count me in if the forecast holds up.

Re: Sun, Mon, Tues....

There's a chance for some wind maybe Sun, 1/18 and more.

It's WindMapper versus NOAA, I vote for WindMapper!

WindMapper -

NOAA-

That's what I like. There's a chance, maybe. If, I might...... Who says windsurfers lack conviction.

I don't know about that. Both Gene and Webguy were almost convicted because of their stupid trailers at Van Pugh. Lol

Noon sounds like a plan.

Re: Sun, Mon, Tues....

My arms hurt. Trey won the first "really big sail prize" but he left too soon to collect. Gene, Stephan, Michel podiumed with 7.5s and Barrett got an honorable mention at 7.0. It really cranked later on when Trey and Bill cut out for the ball game. The rest of us were 6.5 to 5.7. Gainesville was reporting 17-30 all afternoon.

Shout outs to Jim C. and Gregg C. who spectated. Gregg hasn't windsurfed in a few years but figured it would be a good day to connect with some old friends. Good call.

The water is still pretty biting.

Re: Sun, Mon, Tues....

And the winner is WINDMAPPER!

When I posted my orignal post on Friday, WM said lots of wind on Sunday and NOAA said not. Then Saturday, NOAA bumped their forecast up to match WM, (good sign.) Then Sunday morning, NOAA went back to almost no wind (bummer.) Then, it BLEW, as William noted. It was a little chilly, but a LOT of fun. Finally!

Windmapper is calling for a chance of some wind (but not like Sunday) today and Tuesday, and more wind on Wednesday. NOAA is calling for just some wind on Wed.

I vote for Windmapper.

A broken clock is right twice a day you know.

I will start looking at it though. Does it go more than 2 days ahead.

Re: Sun, Mon, Tues....

Yes, actually goes 7 days ahead and we know how accurate that can be.

Here's how it works -

Main page - http://windmapper.com/FL/observations?Loc=CE

Curser over arrows shows 2 days with gusts
Double click on arrow shows 5 days without gusts
Type zip code (30542 for flowery branch) in "get forecasts" square at top of page for 7 days with gusts.

I like that it's easy to see forecasts for the whole SouthEast (or elsewhere) by just moving the curser around. Also, it's another source of data besides the NWS (NOAA) which I think alot of different sights use.

Anything over 2 days out is just a wild guess, but still can give you hope.
