Stolen Kiteboard at Old Federal park

Unfortunately someone stole my North Jamie Pro Kiteboard today Sunday 22nd Feb while I was kiteboarding alone at the old federal park. As the wind died a little I used my larger board and I kept my smaller north board at the beach foolishly thinking its a safe park!

The board is white on the top green/blue at bottom 4 red fins with liquid force straps. I got the board from Emilio few years ago, it has traveled with me several times across the globe. lots of memories.....how could someone be so evil.

I called the police and filed a report.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

my cell is 404-545-4020
email:

Free whole body MRI for anyone who finds it or helps find it as I am a MRI researcher at Emory.
Thanks
Khalil

That's bad news. Sorry to hear about it. I had the same problem a few years back - someone stole one of my windsurf boards while I was out sailing at Tidwell. Pretty much the same scenario - sailing alone on a day when there were very few people at the park. (Apparently, one too many.) Never got mine back.

Aside from filing a police report the only other thing you might do is check with "Play it Again Sports" to see if anyone has brought in a kiteboard or wakeboard. (Perhaps the person stealing it thought it was a wake board and tried to sell it as such.) Pawn shops are also a possibility, though they may not want to deal with something specialized like a kiteboard.

If you have a seriel number anywhere, please try to find it. If not, perhaps the dealer you bought it from can track it down.

Ultimately, prevention is all you can do. I normally now put my boards back in the car, or at least on top of the car.

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.

Man, that bites. Sorry Khalil. My stolen computer popped up on Craig's List– might check there too.

Last year I busted someone selling a stolen windsurfing board on e-bay. The listing seemed very strange (high-end board, but the user obviously knew nothing about windsurfing). I did a google search and saw a listing on iwindsurf.com about a stolen board, contacted the poster, and sure enough that was his board. The guy 'won' the auction, got the seller's address, sent the police and got his board back.

Hopefully the person who stole your board is stupid enough to try to sell it. I would go ahead and post on as many kiteboard forums as you can about your board. Check e-bay and craigslist every couple of days.

Bummer.

I've written REWARD and my cell number on the bottom of my kite board in case I loose it while kiting (although I do use a leash.) If someone did steal it, this might make it harder to sell.

Gentlemen, Thank you very much, I will keep checking online at as many places I know.
There are lots of bad people around and I think prevention is most important.
