The annual Atlanta Boardsailing Club will host the Holiday Party again this year at the Grogan's Bluff Subdivision Clubhouse. Starting at 6:30 PM on Sunday December 7th.
A few things to remember and more details and directions will follow:
1.) A main course dish will be provided (ham, turkey or the like) by the Club, as will soft drinks and beer. So don't eat before hand. There will be plenty of food.
2.) Please bring 1 covered dish with either a dinner or desert item (e.g. salad, cookies, chips, dip, casserole, soup, fruit.) The item need not be complicated and can certainly be picked up at the store on the way to the party.
3.) Family members, kids, relatives, friends, spouses, lovers (but not both at the same time) and your entourage, or groupies are all welcome. As are kiters, landsailors, or anyone interested in wind related sports.
4.) The White Elephant Gift Exchange will be held again, as always. Bring a gift and you can participate. It may be something windsurfing, kiting, sailing, sports related that just didn't work for you, or that stupid necktie you got last year for Christmas that you want to regift or just about anything. Each person in your party may bring one gift.
5.) Grogans Bluff is right off of Roswell Rd, just south of Exit 6 (Northridge Rd.) on GA 400. Exit 400 at Northridge and head west. You will pass the Kroger on the right and come to a stop light on Roswell Rd. Turn Left on Roswell Rd (heading south). and go past 1 stop light (at Ison Rd.). Continue to 8000 Roswell Rd. (the Subdivision entrance) and turn right onto Grogan's Ferry Rd. (If you get to the QT you just missed it) Stay on your right as the road splits. The clubhouse is on your left as the island splitting the road ends. You will likely see an incorrectly rigged Windsurfing sail with Christmas lights thrown on at the last minute designating the location of the party.
6.) If you know anyone who fits the general description of a windsurfer, kiter or similar, please let them know about the party, send out an email or whatever. Many of the local wind peeps just don't visit this web page that often, so please let them know. They may contact me at 770-379-0505 for more details.

This is just to bump this up a bit. But while we are at it, in picking your dish to bring, please be thoughtful of the various dietary issues everyone has. This video will help you see what I mean.
(In other words - bring what you like and to heck with everything else.)

Bump - I am hoping everyone can make it!!!!

My alter-ego will be there. I'd come, too, but the Bubbles' litter box desperately needs to be emptied.

I'm going against the grain and actually bringing something nice for the gift exchange. If you need a big bag to carry your gear in, you'll want to come. Really.
And, if you are thinking of a new sail, think Ezzy. They've been very kind to support club events and make a heck of a sail, too.
Thanks for the heads up on the gift exchange. I'll have to think of some way to try to rig it. Last year we had some pretty awesome stuff. I'm still using the giant rollerblades I won.

Rig a bag? You may have misread the post. It's a gear bag from Ezzy
