Saturday at Galts

Everything is now back to normal. I went to Galts, the lower park was open for the first time in a while - don't know if this is just a weekend thing, or what. Thought I would just fly a kite I just built. Did that for a while, then after some planable gusts decided there was enough wind to sail, so I used 8.2 and the Start. Almost got planing few times, and thought the wind was dying so called it a day. Then, in typical Galts fashion the wind kicked up again as I was hauling my gear back to the car! Just like old times. Anyway, I enjoyed, it - very nice day. Best part was when I noticed my hood was on inside out. I'd say it was 5-10ish.

Well, that was weird. You ended up having the same title as a post Mimi had 10 years ago so your post redirected to that one until I straightened it out.

I think this was two days I should have ignored the forecast and gone sailing instead of a bike ride - more yesterday than today. At least I'm getting in shape for Hatteras - you know those days when there's no wind so we cycle instead.

Maybe I'm following Mimi's lead. I recall she used to have a rule of not sailing till after March 15 each year or something like that. Aside from one half-hearted 10 minute attempt, I didn't make it out till March 7 this year.

The water was very cold, but very clear. I never did get more than 60 cm fin deep, but that was more than enough. Should have gone with a smaller fin.
