Pedro seems to have what it takes.
Two time Olympic medalist, Mike Gebhardt, says “This kid is America’s top windsurfer and he’s moving up the ranks, smart, humble, hard working- I would be honored if a bunch of you windjunkies flipped him 20 bucks to help his expenses while he represents the USA in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics...”

Consider yourself honored.
'preciatecha "Anon".
Even if it's only $5 or $10 each, it'd be cool if Atlanta had a presence in this deal.
C'mon guys, what's $10?

Video for the lazy:
Last weekend, my kids had some friends and guests up at the lake house. Turns out one of them is cousins with the men's RS:X rep, Pedro Pascual. My brush with fame...

Report from Farrah
https://usawindsurfing.wordpress.com/2021/07/24/olympic-eve/
This may be the only Olympics in history where there are more people outside protesting the event than inside cheering on the athletes. Protesters could be heard inside the stadium during the opening ceremonies. It is a bit ironic that the protesters are kind of ignoring social distancing while they protest the games because they might cause the virus to spread.....

I think they are more worried about what foreigners might bring in than what their neighbors might have. The Japanese, like many Asian countries are very good about wearing masks. They are a common sight in flu season - it's the polite thing to do to prevent spreading infection to those around them. We Westerners thought it was a bit silly 30+ years ago when I was there but look who was playing the long game.
Go to any public place in AL or even outside the Atlanta metro area. Neither masks nor social distancing are much of a thing. Of course, neither are vaxes. Not saying I'd be totally comfortable in the Tokyo crowds either with everyone shouting.

To your general point, yeah, this is a weird Olympics which are generally weird anyway. But, I'll give the Japanese this: they didn't invent anything as goofy as Izz. That one still hurts.

Light wind and lumpy water yesterday—> (to quote Tim C) “Pumpin’ like humpin’ monkees”
btw, thanks to the IOC there are no clips allowed on youtube so it's a montage of photos. Great discussion and recap, though.
Goes live 2:30 pm EDT today

Pedro Pascual is in the top 10 currently, Farrah Hall 17th

RS:Xs were on one of the offshore courses with big swell and more consistent wind yesterday. Farah Hall found her groove and got an 8th. She's in 15th place after 9 races. Pedro is in 9th overall. The top 10 after 12 races compete in the medal races.
Nice photo of Farah from yesterday (photo by Sailing Energy).
