That was nice. He's zipping for a small sail in those conditions. Enviable.
He's good. I have a big weight advantage on him and if I miss jibes I'm not going to keep up with him. I was really happy to keep up with him for a few tacks on the days my jibes were finally good.
I checked out that setup he has this weekend, the 78cm phantom. He has a box to move the mast base further aft. That front wing looks super slick.
Some details - they launched from Fred Howard Park (Tarpon Springs,) and sailed out to Anclote Island (where the weeds had piled up.) Besides the star Chris, the co-stars were Regina and James, all are most excellent sailors!
Very disappointed in you. Kind of upset really. You totally missed the chance to use them as a jibe buoy. Please do better next time.
Enjoying the new board?
Haha I have another one of the same guy taking a spill and using him as a jibe buoy but this one was funnier.
I REALLY like the board. Wrote up a bunch more on my ptm 926 thread.
It probably will totally replace the foilx since I can pull up a 7.0 with it. I struggled on the wizard 114 way more and I think the tail lf the freestyle is a lot better. Also like the center rear strap. Really easy to get in and slog in warrior stance until a gust hits, and easy to get in it after a jibe compared to wider set rear straps.
For any doubters still out there who might think foiling in light wind is boring, watch all the small leg movements it takes to keep flying level at speed on performance kit. Also note the absolute lack of white caps. Smashing jibe at the end.
Great little video of a local windsurfer here at one of our favorite spots:

Don't joke with your sailing buddies or you can cause them to wipe out!

Nice short interview with Balz. He thinks that foiling is a good introduction to freestyle because it makes the pop out of the water so much easier.
