Winter is the low- wind, big-wave season on Maui, but the day we arrived we were in luck. We're here visiting our son while he buys some new windsurfing gear to take back to his home on Guam.
Day 1 was fabulous on a 5.8 meter sail, although at times overpowered. . Out on the reef we had waves great for jumping with real air time. Riding the waves turned out to be more challenging. It was easy to outrun them. We thought the wind would be lighter & rented slalom boards at the Naish shop. We should have rented wave boards that can be sailed slower.
It's al good thing we got out on the first day. The rest of the week is forecast to have no wind.

Barrett
so I'm working on the web site really late tonight (well, actually early morning) and I see that Barrett has recently been on. Dang, never knew Barrett stayed up that late.
Wait... he's in... where? Yeah, Hawaii. And the time difference is, what, 6 hours?
Hope you are getting hypothermia out there like we are here, Barrett (current temp: 28F).
Aloha
More likely sunburn. Or wind burn.
Anybody who posts about sailing in Maui while we are suffering in the depths of winter should be a candidate for the Baron Davis injury.

ed: Randy's link got caught in our word parser. It had a word similar to knicks and disk. Pointed it to someplace similar.
