BTW there was a local race here last weekend at the Dunedin causeway. I wanted to race against other foilers, as they had 4 classes (LT, Kona, Beginner Sport, and Open Foil), but nobody else registered for foil racing. I also had a second commitment that day. But, looks like they had a full race with LTs and Konas and dropped the open foil and beginner sport.
Seems like putting together the races is tough, but I couldn't find information on the local race until just about right before. Glad this race is being put out there well in advance. Seems like there's a lot of longboarders in FL that I didn't even know about.
Kind of surprised at the Dunedin turn out. Yes, Getting attendance at any sort of event these days takes some publicity. There are so many things competing for our time and attention that you have to get in front of people with enough time to spare. If they haven't done it before, they might not be aware of what it takes to get the word out past their local "bubble".
