I may go to OLD FEDERAL this afternoon (Tuesday) to try Winging depending on the amount of and direction of the wind. But I may end up going to VAN PUGH, or stay home.
I went to VP and slogged for a couple of hours. Then 30 min prior to the end of my session, I used the only gust for a 50 meter flight, after which my board drop landed straight down. Gear used:
Exocet RF81, neilpryde V8 flight 8.0, starboard race 1000. Due to technical difficulties, couldn't use the Phantom.

Well, the "good news" is that if you weren't flying with the 1000, the 930 wouldn't have done any better. Sorry it was a frustrating day.
The forecast has the wind turning from S, to SW, then W, although the timing is uncertain.
Might try 12-3pm at VP. What’s a better launch for S & W??
Thanks
South sort of works at vanns. For winging, sw is better at old fed -easier to get out to wind line. On south at vp, you can sail from boat launch side but its totally offshore and you have to dodge Bozo Island.
West Bank Park and two Mile Creek are also south options.
Looked like worst part would pass north but the hook ended up getting too close. Power still off in neighborhood and some damage and trees down at the house which is in town here. The hook had been part of a tornado that went through Athens. Followed up by more storms through day break.
Generally lucky but helluva inconvenient. It's a very eerie feeling having all the sirens go off with an almost still wind but knowing the weather is bearing down on you at 30+ mph.
Hope to go
Tough day/night though in OK. Bittersweet thing about wind here sometimes is that our good times accompany someone else's crummy time.

I will try windfoiling, Tuesday after lunch at Van Pugh. I would love some company, if anyone wants to join.

Rhett said it blew today. Who else went out?
I went to Trader Joe's if that counts for anything
