It is also worth noting that of the half dozen or so reasons the lake was built - providing a constant supply of water to help the Florida mussel industry was not one of them........

Not to worry. It won't be long until when the entire mussel habitat will be under plenty of salt water. It may be a bit warm and acidic but it will be deep.
Absolutely fascinating for a nerd like me. Of course, seeing the spindly legs of Browns Bridge gives me pause given how often I drive over it.
