Sorry but I must ask (again) "What model are you smoking" and where can I find it?

Re: SW Tues 4/23

Thanks. I've been kind of discounting the NOAA dots lately because they seem to have been a no show or too late to the party for me. The NOAA text says "West wind 5 to 10 mph....... Winds could gust as high as 15 mph." "Could be as high" seems like even NOAA is a bit doubtful..That said, the dots did come through on Saturday. Clearly, the wind doesn't really care what NOAA or the forecast models say.

Maybe I'm color blind because I find that shade of blue green looked mostly blue to me no matter what model I looked at on Windy. I had been thinking tomorrow would be the perfect day for e-foiling but I guess I shouldn't complain if the wind shows up. Maybe I will bring along a wing or something.

Re: SW Tues 4/23

The dot forecast seemed to perform very well right up until it got warm. It peerty much nailed the very windy days we had recently

Saturday imho outperformed but some of that was, I think, wind from a small cell that passed north of the lake.

I'll readily admit to being an eternal optimist. I'm willing to get burned a few times because I've had so many great days which were edge forecasts. I've gone more than a few times and not posted because of that willingness but don't want anyone else to drive an hour and get burned on my account.

I hope tomorrow is a good session but if someone is hesitant, Wednesday is definitely the higher probability.

Re: SW Tues 4/23

It blew...enough. it cycled on and off about every 5 min Good enough for me.

Got my old phone fixed so I have receipts. I'm still freakin slow though

Almost did my first foiling 360 today. Got all the way around but fell off the foil at the end. What really happened was I went into a screaming jibe into a completely dead pocket and the sail backwinded hard. I was determined to stay dry so I pushed back on the sail and kept pushing. I only had a 3/2 on and didn't want to get dunked. While I was pushing, the board kept turning until I made a 360. At that point I fell on the sail but didn't go in. I started laughing when I realized what had just happened.
