The NWS forecast looks favorable for Wednesday: Sunny, a high near 69. West wind 10 to 15 mph, gusting 20 mph. Please post if you can go. I have time to sail early afternoon at Van Pugh.
I have some errands to run in the am. If I can get free later, I may join you. Worried a bit about getting "domed". The last couple of nights probably cooled the water a bit.
Dome conditions but still enough push to have breeze most of the time. Barrett got there first while Z followed me. Saw (and talked to ) Mike who sailed from Aqualand. Lulls were 5-7 ish and then it would push out with 20 ish at the front part of the puff. Later in the day after Z retired, I hung around hoping that the temp drop in the evening would bring back a breeze and it worked - got some nice screaming runs.
Waterfowl were pretty active (terns, ducks, etc) in the channel. Must be busy downstairs. With a fairly healthy breeze at times plus trying out my new VMG kit, went over to the LLSC and cruised off Old Fed Campground before heading back. New VMG wing on the foil is a winner. Not sure if it lifts as early as my Starboard 1000 but the glide is incredible and not a bit unruly in the gusts. I'll post more about it later.
Water temps suffered from the cold snap. Barrett measured 50 before going out.
