Thursday looks like it has some potential. In fact, since it's looking a little better to the East with some leftover on Friday, I might do a trip to lake hartwell & maybe camp a night.
This is the time of year when I go to the lake and its maybe 5-6 mph in a gust and someone looks at my windfsurf board and says "That looks like fun. You got a good day for it....."
A few weeks ago (on a 5-15 type day) a guy said "Are you worried there will be too much wind?"

I left a little before 4 when the clouds started looking a little nasty. Saw some rain on Hwy 20 and as luck would have it, I barely got into the garage at home when the sky broke loose. Looked like from the radar that the lake missed most of the rain - how was it?
Sailed 7.3 and windsup for about 2.5 hours - nice day, winds 5-15ish I would say.

Gene - don't feel to bad about it. Looks like Lake Lanier conditions are not that unique. Change the word "Wyoming" to "Lake Lanier" ,and "cow" to 'geese" an this looks like a pretty close match.

oh... must admit, I did skim through the 8 minutes of a kite falling out of the sky first time through. You are correct, sir, that's Rio Olympics level water.
Yeah I have watched the whole thing. While about kitesurfing, it does capture the struggles we have with wind/water sports whether windsurfing or kitesurfing. I loved the "I found my Christmas wreath" part. I normally don't got time for all that but this one kept me laughing all the way.
BTW - I am surprised they complain about the wind in Wyoming - it is one of the best states for development on wind electric generation. There are wind turbines everywhere.

Pesky wind. Is it a threat or a menace?
I asked a friend, who'd recently returned from a Caribbean vacay, "Was it windy"?
He said, "No, it wasn't too bad".

Old Fed around lunchtime.
Almost live update -
Randy is at Old Fed, 11:15, says some wind, dark water, trying to cap, maybe 8-12 mph.
I plan to be there around noon.

Being up at 7200 feet doesn't help either. That's some thin air - 80% of sea level density.
I don't think its the thin air that bothers them as much as what's on the ground and in the water.
