There was actually wind today at Lake Lanier, for those who weren't doing cat video searches. I had really good time. However, more to the point - I saw an actual UFO. At first I thought it was someone trying to learn how foil. But no it was an actual UFO and I got in on video. Naturally, as in all cases of UFO video capture, the picture quality sucks. But here it is.

Yeah webguy - at first it just looks like someone trying to learn how to foil. Then at about 26 seconds we see the alien trying make his ascension to the mother ship......Enhancing doesn't help. Alien tech manages to scramble normal optics. These are unusually good videos compared other ones showing aliens.
There was usable wind (probably big sail, wide board stuff) from around 9:15 to 11 ish, though probably not as good as Gilmer reported:

09 09:53 NE 12 G 21 10.00 Fair CLR 72 48 43% NA NA 30.11 1018.2

Dang, This is exactly why i have stayed a beginner in this sport for 25 years. It is pretty clear to me that as soon as you actually become a high end windsurfer you start focusing on this SH*Tk(aliens?). Despite the best efforts of Chris V and, more recently, Barrett W, i am sticking to my guns, and not advancing in this sport, so i dont have to post crazy stuff like you guys do.
Cat videos- jeez I am permanently damaged from watching those. Does this site have insurance for liability issues?
I am going to set up an organization called Windsurfers Annonymous. You guys will be the first invitees. Frankly, Chris V should start as the first member. Foiling- Really???? As if windsurfing is not hard enough. Hello my name is Chris and I am windsurferaholic!.
I am really disappointed in you people. I am going to focus on Making American Great again instead of this BS
None of this silliness would be going on if we had some decent wind to windsurf on. Peggy & I are heading to Bonaire for the first week of August to get some relief from the still air. Delta flies direct on the weekend. In the meantime I'll be checking the forecast for dots.

Club policy: you can not plane through a jibe until you can watch this and have a zen-like understanding even if you don't speak German (from the same German company)
I'll try to make it up today. I might even drag up the 10.8 for kicks.

Where is the UFO??? More importantly, where is the wind? Otherwise, it's a very nice video.
Barrett
UFO around 0:26. Helps if you make it full screen. Helps even more if you enhance, enhance, enhance.
I think the forecast needs to be enhanced now, too. I scared it away.
I think Randy was working with some high tech equpment on this one.

OK. Sorry I missed it. There was wind. As for aliens. Randy must be right. Here's a photo of their bus at a garage in Decatur.

Dots are in today's forecast. I'm heading to Van Pugh with the 50/50 chance there is some wind.
Barrett
I'm going to go to the river today.

Edit: On the liability thing - we're ahead of you: http://windsurfatlanta.org/wiki/WindsurfAtlantaWiki:General_disclaimer
A lot of wisdom there in my completely biased opinion.
