Windsurfing and Kiteboarding at Two Mile Creek Park

General Information

Good place to longboard in summer as traffic is less than many parts of the lower lake and Two Mile can be a lot less crowded the usual spots. Likewise, about the only decent wind direction, SW, is pretty common that time of the year. Nice grassy point for sun and picnic. Other sites are better for shortboarding.

Local Tips

Ability

Beginner Intermediate Advanced An astute beginner will plan his/her launch to take advantage of the local islands, etc to provide a safety net. Typically, traffic is a bit less here than at Van Pugh in the summer but you may want to consider going to Sunrise Cove if that's closer.

Wind Shadows

Two Mile is in the middle of a number of islands and points. Any direction but SW is pretty much downwind of something tall and piney. If all you want are gentle summer breezes, enough does sneak in to let you move slowly about.

Sailing Upwind

On a fresh SW, this gets you out into the open by Lake Lanier Islands, a worthwhile effort.
