Dear Windsurfatlanta.org Part 31

Bollywood RocksI find it fascinating that most of the Bollywood music videos I've seen feature such large casts in bright colors. And, hardly no "ho's" in bikinis washing cars.
I couldn't find any pics with Bollywood and windsurfing in them.

In this post, we answer a couple of questions from our mythical mystical mailbag.

Dear wsatl.org,
After seeing a number of your articles lead with pictures that have nothing to do with actual windsurfing (clowns, ancient Greek pottery and a winery come to mind), I'm wondering if you haven't outsourced your copywriting to someone in Mumbai? Does the person writing this crap realize this is supposed to be a web site about windsurfing and board sports?

Thank you for contacting the Atlanta Boardsailing Club support web page; we answer questions in the order they are received. Answers may be faked for quality assurance purposes.

We consider a number of factors when choosing the images for our articles, especially, the leading ones. Obviously, it has to catch the readers' attention. Since most of our readers have the attention span of a Parson Jack Russell terrier and the intelligence of its chew toy, we have to choose something both eye catching yet understandable by something with the intelligence of tree lichen. After all, our audience are windsurfers or, worse, kiteboardsurfists.

While we endeavor to include windsurfing photos, we are faced with the dilemma that either the photos show moves and conditions totally alien to Atlanta (a Spock or Vulcan, really?) or ones that look like my vacation pics.

To wit:

Naples
That's me. I think. That or dust on the lens. I think the speck of dust was near the Sanibel Causeway. I can't really tell.

Naples enhanced

We tried zooming in and enhance, enhance, enhance. But it didn't help much.

Windsurfing can be a terribly difficult sport to photograph. You either need a helicopter or a lens the size of a bazooka; or, you end up taking a picture of a speck on the horizon. If you try to catch someone by the beach, you end up with a picture of that exciting maneuver, uphauling. Pictures of people uphauling generally aren't very interesting and pictures of specks decidedly less so.

The exception that proves the rule: Giselle Bundchen uphauling. Yeah, it's exciting if it's a supermodel doing it. When was the last time you saw a super model at Van Pugh? Never. Exactly. (Giselle, lift with the legs, not the back.)

And just to show we aren't being petty, here she is sailing.

Like great cuisine, it's all about the presentation. We'll leave you with this image from a Youtube beginning windsurfing tutorial. At first I thought it was a joke about the high heels until I realized that the camera as lingering uncomfortably long on the high heels. Wait, this wasn't a video about windsurfing but shoes, women's shoes. And the people who, ahem, love them.

Shoes by Christian Louboutin. We run some fancy kind of web site, don't we?

Since we pretend this to be a family friendly web site, we aren't linking directly to it. But, if you feel the urge to see it, google "windsurfing tutorial" and you'll find it. It has lots and lots of views and comments. Oh, and it comes in two parts for minutes of added viewing pleasure.

Dear windsurfatlanta.com,
Do you write these rubbish pretend "mailbag" articles because you are a lonely, pathetic and sad man or do you not have anything else to write about?

Dear valued reader,
Is this a true/false question or multiple choice?
