2012 Fall Classic. Oct. 19-21, 2012 Lake Lanier Sailng Club and the Atlanta Boardsailing Club

In accordance with the Mayan prophecy, Chris Voith regrets to announce the 34th Annual and Last Fall Classic, October 20-21, 2012 on the soon to be consumed grounds of the Lake Lanier Sailing Club. 34th Annual Fall Classic Windsurfing Regatta held by the Atlanta Boardsailing Club at Lake Lanier Sailing Club

If, by cosmic intersession, the world does not end in 2012, we also look forward to seeing you in 2013 for the 35th Annual Fall Classic.

  • *Calema Mid-Winters — Thu, Mar, 1, 2012 - Sun, Mar, 4, 2012
    Midwinters is back at Kelly Park in Merritt Island, FL this year.  Racing will likely include Formula, Techno 293 (and is the North American Championships for Techno 293) and Kona.  More details will be available soon at http://calema.com/events/calema-midwinters-2012/
  • *Kashy Windsurfing Fins Windsurfing Festival — Fri, Apr, 20, 2012 - Sun, Apr, 22, 2012
    The Kashy  Fins Windsurfing Festival – WET Spring Regatta will be held April 20-22 in Yorktown, VA

     Tentative plans are to have Formula and Pro fleet sail Friday/Saturday/Sunday.  Other Fleets on Saturday and Sunday only.  Racing formats may include Formula, Slalom, Long-distance and enduro.Notice of Race to follow.

  • Jacksonville Windfest — Sat, Apr, 28, 2012 - Sun, Apr, 29, 2012
    The first year for this event which will be held in Jacksonville, Fl  at SailLaser, located at Fleming Island Marina.  SailLaser is providing race and organizational support, and Fleming Island Club & Marina has graciously agreed to host the event. The venue is the St. Johns River, which is over 2 miles wide at this location.  April is a great month for sailing on the River, with the potential for both frontal passages as well as late afternoon seabreezes.

    Classes will be Kona, Intercollegiate Kona, Formula and Open.  Registration is only $40 ($25 for students) and inlcudes lunch Saturday and Sunday and refreshments Saturday evening.  Notice of Race will be availalbe soon.

  • Formula North American Championships — Tue, Jul, 17, 2012 - Sun, Jul, 22, 2012
    Held at the St Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco.  Formula racing from July 17-20 and then Slalom on the 21 and 22nd.  Then blast up the coast for Nationals!
  • *US Windsurfing National Championships — Mon, Jul, 23, 2012 - Sat, Jul, 28, 2012
    2012 US Windsurfing Nationals will be held in Hood River, OR.  More details will be available soon!
  • Kona North American Championships — Fri, Aug, 24, 2012 - Tue, Aug, 28, 2012
    Held in Waconia, MN - more information soon.
  • BABA East Coast Championships* — Sat, Sep, 22, 2012 - Sun, Sep, 23, 2012
    Don't miss the East Coast Championships at Mayo Beach Park in Mayo, MD.  More infomation can be found at www.windsurfbaba.org
  • *34th Atlanta Fall Classic & End of the World Party — Sat, Oct, 20, 2012 - Sun, Oct, 21, 2012
    The 34rd annual Atlanta Fall Classic will be held at the Lake Lanier Sailing Club in Flowery Branch, GA.  One of the longest running events in the country - lots of good food and drink, leaves changing colors, camping in a lakeside forest and maybe even good fall winds!  And who can miss out on an end of the world party!  More information will be available at www.windsurfatlanta.org

Not sure we're on the NRT– (no * by the event).

 Karen said she'd pow wow with the BOD and see about adding it, but in the mean time put us on the calendar

Got the ok from my wife and so I am looking forward to attend and meeting you guys.
If there info on signing up and camping that would be excellent. Just the poster is worth the trip from Greenville¡

Camping is on site at the club. Usual schedule is Friday night welcome/registration. Saturday morning registration/skipper's meeting, etc., lunch, racing, dinner, after dinner activities which range from DJ, movies, slide shows, give-aways. Sunday breakfast, racing awards ceremony.

Chris will post the particulars in the official Notice of Race a reasonable amount of time ahead of the event.

btw, significant others are more than welcome to hang out or pursue other suitable activities in the area.
