Surfing The Storm - Video Hurricane Matthew

I hope you enjoy the video. Alain got me started putting it together on my iPhone. Joe originally planned to join friends in Avon, but with roads flooded, and power out, chose to join us sailing the storm.

We've now been out and about hearing personal stories such as Marty's, the owner of Cavalier Surf Shop. The shop flooded knee deep, a tree hit her home, and despite all that, Marty is glad no family members were injured. As soon as her son finished digging a trench to drain off water, he pulled on a wet suit and headed out to surf the waves.

Too bad about all the destruction and hardship for the locals and visitors on the coast. But glad you guys are making the best of it. Looks like some good wind this week after the hurricane, wish I was there to catch some of it.
Barrett, I don't know how you do it, you are always in full smile on the board. I usually have my tongue sticking half way out and my face looks like I'm trying to lift 200lbs.

Have fun, keep your back to the wind and your toes wet.

Better than me. Every pic I look like an angry otter. sigh...

The devastation on OBX is pretty brutal. Inland, it's worse. I hate that some idiot in GA was mad that she evacuated for nothing. "Next time I'm staying." Dumbass, you were lucky. If it hit you instead of NC, you'd have had water into the attic. It's like getting pissed that you paid home insurance all year and didn't have a tree hit your house.
