Re: Regatta weekend

Forecast is for a lot of wind from the North West on Friday so I hope to sail Van Pugh on Friday. Saturday looks like some wind also.

Re: Regatta weekend

VP roster (that I'm aware of): Rhett, Jim C. Diane, Crispy, David (vroom vroom) Wade, Gene, Ed and Jowell. Gusty 20-30 but the water is warm and forgives mistakes.

Rhett finished early and rang me as I was headed up. "It's blowing. Bring the small stuff." Crap, I just had the 7 and 6 at home and didn't want to make any detours. Oh, well, the 6 has range. Got to the lake, opened the van and somehow my cockroach brain confused the 9.5 sail bag with the 6. I know, I know. Yeah, I was the idiot with the 7 today. Shok

Chris V made it out at LLSC along with Charleston guy, Dan Olivier. Looking good for the regatta tomorrow. As always, Chris has put together a killer weekend. I can't believe so many people don't come and just hang like Chris P. It's a great time. Come up, the gate is open.

Re: Regatta weekend

We're all still exhausted from Saturday. I'll do a better write up in a bit but Saturday was epic. Fun, challengin, scary (if you were trying to go fast because at times you'd be going REALLY FAST). Warm 12-25 winds, good course, great food, great people. No wind this morning but we got 4 good races in yesterday - or so I'm told because I totally missed the first race going off because of the chaos of it blowing about 25 at the start.

Stanger is still freakin' fast. Chris puts on a great event. Eric is fast in sport fleet. Formula boards work as long as you don't have lulls. Lake Lanier has lulls even on spankin' days.

I'll write up more when my brain recovers from Friday and Saturday. After spending Friday afternoon on a 7.0, I spent yesterday on an 8.0 when 6s were the call at Van Pugh. Yes, Virginia, pointing an 8.0 downwind in 25 is an interesting experience.

Did I thank Chris, Debbie and everyone else who helped out enough? Probably not. Again, big thanks. More shout outs and details in a bit.
