Photos Posted - Trip to Fred Howard Park

Web-guy has updated the the Foto Gallery with a nice new format. I just finished posting pictures to the Foto Gallery from the January trip to Fred Howard Park.

Thanks again to Langdon for encouraging us all to make the drive down to Tarpon Springs. We set a two week window of time and agreed to go when the forecast called for a period of good wind. We were lucky to have a good week-end forecast. Saturday Jan. 21, conditions were perfect for unpacking and getting out on the water with 20-25 mph wind. The next day it blew 35 mph+. I used my 3.7 meter sail all day, and needed it. Day 3 slacked off a bit to the 4.0 - 4.5m range. Many of the locals wore full suits due to the "cold" 70ºF water. I was comfortable in a shorty. It was a wonderful break when Lake Lanier water was 48ºF.

During the evening we had a fun time visiting the Sponge Docks in the quaint center of Tarpon Springs. Greek fishermen still dive for sponges out in the Gulf. You can see the sponges hung in nets drying at the docks, and have dinner at a traditional Greek restaurant.

It was a memorable trip and good times shared with fellow windsurfers and kiters.

Big thanks, Barrett!

I'm going to do a full write up when I'm not swamped but we've redone the photo album format to make it easier for everyone to participate. If you are logged in, on the right side menu, you'll see a link to "Create a Photo Album". It's pretty much like making a forum post and uploading pics. You can upload multiple pics at a time - the only restriction is that they can't total more than 32mb. If you are uploading lots of full size images, the easy thing to do is upload some pics to create the album and then upload more as an edit.

If you have trouble, pm me.

The other restriction is that you have to have been a registered web site user for at least 30 days. That's so I don't wake up and find an album of nsfw images or spam posted.

Edit: There's a blog link on the right side, too, if anyone is ever moved to write an article.
