I went to VP, couldn't tell if there was any wind to speak of, went to OldFed and almost decided to leave when indications seemed to improve. Took the Superlight LB w/ 5.8. Sailed 2 hr or so. Good session, OP a fair amount in gusty conditions. At the top of the LLSC bay I had some gust fronts that threatened to take me out (no footstraps). Wednesday? Maybe, but direction is a concern.
Sounds like 70 degree air over 50 degree water is an issue. It takes a fair amount of wind to push the cold air off the water so when it does blow, it tends to be gustier.
I passed web guy heading home from the Lake due to summer (no wind conditions). Arriving at Old Federal it looked bleak, but after a few minutes of shooting the breeze, the wind came up sufficiently for Roger to rip with his 17 meter kite. I rigged my 8.5m & stayed on a plane most of the time on my new RRD 122 L Firemove board (love that board). Gene, & Dave D., evaluated conditions while Langdon practiced turns with his 7.5m sail. It was so warm I had to drop into the water to cool off with my 3-2, Spring wetsuit. No complaints - it was a beautiful afternoon.
I am going to try and go at lunchtime, work permitting.
WSW winds
Old Fed?
If you want flat water. The swell Sunday at VP was glorious with the west wind.

Dome Effect
Seemed to come up late yesterday, so I'm going to aim for 2-3.
If <270º, I'll be at LLSC (6089 is the gate code). If >270º going to VP
Well this explains a lot:

Live report from Old Fed.
There are a few whitecaps...or maybe they are seagulls...I need stronger contacts.
Rigging and going out to confirm one way or the other

Looks like summertime- not in a good way.
