Saw this. Works for every thing or so they say. Kitesurfer, Windsurfer, SUP and wake board. BTW - forgot to mention it, saw a guy on a foil at Old 41 this weekend. Tried to take a picture, but didn't get to my phone fast enough.

What was the foil on that you saw? Kite, wakeboard, etc?
I think this adapter benefits surfboards, sups, kiteboards, etc a lot more than windsurfers.
My concerns/cautions/talking out my butt:
1) To use a foil designed for a windsurfer, you'd have to cover the fin box with the adapter. Otherwise, everything is out of whack with the foil in the wrong place.
2) I would be concerned about ripping the whole bottom skin of the board off or at least significant delamination..
3) You'll most likely use a kite foil with this so then you begin the guessing process of getting the foil in the correct spot. Foiling is hard enough to learn already.
4) With LP Foils and Windance having Powerbox and regular tuttle foils and adapters, that covers 80-90% of the boards on the water now. The more I look at the Windance plate (which you first spotted), the more I like it: http://www.windance.com/Windsurf/Windsurf-Foils/PowerPlate-Windsurf-Foil-Plate/35287/
Where I do see something like this working is a competent foiler using this on old Techo for someone who doesn't want to rebuild the box to deep Tuttle or an older garage board (10-20 yr old shortboard) to use as a high wind foil. Or, crazy idea, putting two foils on a long board.
I think something like this for a SUP would be absolutely cool for the beach.
Webster, the guy was on a wakeboard pulled by a motor boat. He was jumping with it as well.

Pfft. I jumped Saturday, too. Barrett got some video.
I'm not eggspert, but it seems to me it has got to be easier having a boat tow you than having to rely on wind to get foiling and jumping.

One reason I really prefer wind powered water sports over the motorized: I hate having a boat full of people staring at me thinking "I wish he'd finish up, it's my turn" every time I eff up.
Roger that. Nuthin' but pure onshore entertainment when us all eff up
