Halloween Parade

Come join the Halloween Parade October 2017

In 2007 I am entering the Halloween Parade at Little Five Points in downtown Atlanta.

The entry will consist of dirt bikers pulling windsurfers and we will all be in costume.

Imagine this:

Dirt bikers riding their bikes dressed in dirt bike gear from feet to neck. Then each dirt biker will have a spooky face painting ( I plan on being Bettlejuice ). Each dirt bike will then have a rope attached to the back of the bike and will pull a windsurfer with sail and sailor ( also dressed in costume). As the parade progresses for its one mile course we will be throwing candy out to the audience.

I go to this parade every year and every year I think about this. Well now I going to do something about it. If you want to join in, respond to this post or PM me. The only requirements are you have to want to have fun and you must be good at clutch control ( I am sure my recluse will work best ).

I will do all the leg work to pull this off and I have the plan figured out.

So far the list of participants include my entire family and Paul Wright. What about you? Why not you?

Come join in, it will be a blast.

Check out this video of the last parade. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdWLK0bgUHo

Mind the overhead wires.

Peelskid - what exactly are the dirt bikes going to be pulling? A trailer? Is someone supposed to hold up their rig the whole time? The parade looks fun but people might want some of the logistics worked out before committing fragile equipment.

Bikes will have a mirror so driver can monitor windsurfer he is pulling. Bikes have a rope attached to the back. Rope is about 10 feet long. Windsurf board is mounted on a furniture dolly with 4 wheels. Rear wheels are fixed and front wheels are turnable. Board is then strapped down to dolly with roof straps. This will allow board to be pulled like a wagon. Rope is attached to the mast base. Sailor stands on board and holds the sail rig up for a distance of one mile at an approx. speed of 1 to 4 mph. Yes you will have to hold the rig in a vertical position unless I come up with another idea for keeping the sail upright. You will use the smallest sail possible 2.5 trainer, 4.0, 5.0, something easy to handle. Assistants will be walking along side of the windsurfer and assistants will also be throwing candy to the crowd.

First prize goes to the sailor who can preform the above and also hook in and get in the straps.

I am still working on an idea to have one with a foil for Chris.

Don't forget you will be in costume. Imagine using your 3/2 wet suit and painting it with water color paint or scotch tapping skulls to it. It's all in the planning stage now.

I need the team before applying for the permit.

Re: Halloween Parade

I was thinking of something more along the lines of this:

This is exactly the speed we will be using in the Parade.

This is the same video BC/BS used to get their approval for a 21.9 % rate hike.
