I'll join you tomorrow afternoon at Van Pugh in my silver van. I'd bring Pipsqueak for extra company. She likes rigging sails, but doesn't care for car trips.
We had one heck of a good day over in Augusta. Sail sizes from 4.2 to 4.7 and Clarks Hill lake is still surprisingly warm (no gloves or hoodies needed). The best part is we actually had a new sailor show up - unicorns do exist! 4 sailors on the water, the biggest 'crowd' in years.
Wow! what a great all-in-one shot. Here are a couple more from when I went ashore to rest during today's epic session. I was mostly overpowered on a 4.7m. Photos are of Trey & Marek.
Chris snapped me one of the few times I was keeping it together.
Trey and Marek were ripping it today. Those of us at the smaller end of the spectrum struggled because who knew we'd need something smaller than a mid 4? I haven't had the 4.0 out since we got hit by a tropical depression while in Avon. Even Marek came in and rigged down to a low 4 something.
My last run (yeah, because it looked like it had let off a bit) I remember looking back at VP from Aqualand and seeing 3/4 mile of spray and steep chop. Which is why it was my last run. Going out was a lot of fun with the swell. Coming back was just plain work.
The Promotion float jacket worked really well today. Floats you pretty well and you don't even feel it on when you are on the water. Highly recommended.

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.

Got all the rock stars in one shot ... it's a Festivus MIRACLE!

Hair of the dog and all that around lunchtime.
OK, it's déjà vu all over again. See you at Van Pugh.

Dang, Mr. B and I had a great session. Not too chilly and 7.0s were the perfect call. We were able to plane through most jibes and very few holes.
If one wonders why we put up with wetsuits, today was the perfect explanation.
