Please plan to come to LLSC next month for the the 39th Atlanta Fall Classic! We're expecting a big turnout this year since the Shell Point Club is coming with reinforcements. A bye week for FSU football has induced more than 'the usual suspects' to venture north. Many of them are non-racers who come for the groovy vibe and the easy "all-inclusive" weekend– just show up and everything is taken care of... good grub, loads of libations, awesome sunsets and great fall (often windy) weather. There's free camping at the club– great tent/small camper sites but no hook-ups. Old Federal Campground, adjoining LLSC, is open with hook-ups, etc.
The racing is friendly with an emphasis on fun. Old school raceboards are the weapon of choice for most, but watch for ringers like webguy on Formula gear if conditions allow.... and there may be some foiling going on too! It's the weekend of October 13-15. Club opens on Friday for practice & tuning, heavy hors d'oeuvres and on site registration. Racing on Saturday and Sunday.
There is no pre-registration, but an email to let me know you are coming is appreciated– .
Also, we have some easy volunteer opportunities if you would like to pitch in! Call me at 404-386-8505
I will be there. I will be coming in second or third in the new "Foil" class depending if Rhett and Chris foil. If more show up, I expect my placing to increase (higher numbers) proportionally.
Seriously, this is an incredible event without wind. If there's wind, there are always epic adventures: the long distance race to Van Pugh, sailing an 8.0 in 25+ downwind. And, always, you spend time with some of the coolest people on the planet: windsurfers.
I will be there.
I do not think I will racing but at least watching and helping if need be
I'm coming.
Alan

...AND jjordan will be sailing in OPEN class this year! Congratulations, you've earned it.
