Would be cool, but I need to be in Atl Fri and will get there late in the evening. But I will bring a windsurfboard also - maybe the lighter wind gear.

Who's going?
Judging from the marine f'cast, it looks like the high may move off shore and bring some shredable south (warm) wind to the coast by Thursday & Friday with a little less...

Ditto that on East Beach- nice variety of conditions. The wide, hard-packed beach made a perfect place for the landsailor too.

At Van Pugh I guess I had the most fun day so far this year - pretty much powered and more on 5.8 all afternoon - no hood, no cold hands. Ramps could have been better, but nice all in all.

I agree Chuck. The sandbar and the awesome rigging area makes St. Simons my favorite place to sail the ocean. I love that place!

as long as you're in that neighborhood, you might want to check out East Beach (at the old Coast Guard Sation) on St simons Island. Easy drive up access and parking with facilities at one of the...

Just be aware of the tide. It is very strong and 7 feet. There is always plenty of water, it never gets to shallow.

David - thank you for the information. I will definately have my windsurfboard this weekend. Was it too shallow with the outgoing tide, or did it make the relative speed messed up? On the low...

Philip - Enjoyed your photos of coatis, waterfalls, & butterflies. But where are the windsufing photos? Did you get out on Lake Arenal or the NW coast?

You are probably staying where I am staying. There is no beach at high tide and nothing but a bunch of rocks. The are doing the kiteboarding thing just up the beach a little where there is...
David - where did you windsurf? I'll be there next weekend and was just interested in some insider tips. I did windsurf there many years ago - '99 I think. We were staying in the managed condos...

Similar at Galts. I rigged a 6.6 and was slightly overpowered in the gusts. The chop was big (for Galts). Sailed by myself for 2 hours and felt less safe as I got tired. I quit early because of...

Vann's Tavern is also 'across from' Van Pugh, though you can just see a little piece of it from LLSC. It's all the way across the main channel. Aqualand is across Chattahoochee Bay on the SE side...
