General Information
50 min. Because of the riprap on shore (rocks), launching can be a chore when the water is up. Vann's Tavern is an easier launch and only 5 minutes further. On the other hand, some windsurfers love coming to Tidwell, especially if they live on the GA 400 corridor, because it gets them on the water quickest.

Legacy Directions
N GA 400 to exit 16. Turn right on Pilgrim Mill Road. Go until road deadends into park.
Local Tips
Tidwell has a surprisingly long fetch on a NE, almost a mile longer than Vann's Tavern.
Ability
Intermediate Advanced
The best wind direction is side shore with little safety net for the beginner. Works better for a beginner on SE but that is an uncommon wind direction (for wind worth sailing) for Atlanta.
Wind Shadows
Anything but the recommended wind directions will have some pretty significant wind shadows.
Sailing Upwind
The intrepid sailor could work his way upwind towards Van Pugh on a decent NE breeze.
